Transportation Department

Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation:

Pascal Ginesta: pginesta@sssd.k12.co.us

The Steamboat Springs School District-RE2 Transportation Department operates 15 full-time routes, 14 of which transport regular classroom students with the remaining route devoted to Special Needs students. Our staff includes a Director, 15 regular route drivers, and 2 mechanics. In addition, we have as many as 5 substitutes on call for those times when a regular driver is either sick or busy driving students to one of the District’s many extra-curricular activities.

Colorado Department of Transportation and the Colorado Department of Education have established many important rules and regulations designed to ensure that students arrive at their destinations safely, and we work hard to meet and exceed these standards. Prior to being assigned driving duties for SSSD-RE2, our drivers undergo extensive training in school bus operation, maintenance, CDOT compliance and, above all, safety. Once assigned, our drivers are involved in ongoing training and testing each year. At School Transportation we are proud of our great safety record and the important service that we provide for our community!
